Purpose
Our fundraising goal - raise $10,000 to distribute twenty $500.00 grants to ten families with one or more student currently attending GW
As we all know, the coronavirus pandemic has hit our students, their families, and the East Side community.
Inspired by similar projects around the city that have begun raising funds for school families, a team of GW teachers, staff, and community members have come together to lighten the burden of this crisis for some of our Washington families who have the greatest need. Like most other school solidarity fund projects, this is not an official school initiative of GWHS or CPS - it is a group of us, many of whom happen to be teachers, getting together to see what we can do to support the GWHS community. As people who work and live in the East Side, we have a unique opportunity to stand in solidarity with the student families we serve by sharing some of our collective resources.

Propósito
Nuestro objetivo de recaudación de fondos: recaudar $10,000 para distribuir diez subvenciones de $500.00 a veinte familias con uno o más estudiantes que actualmente asisten a la escuela George Washington HS.

Como todos sabemos, la pandemia del coronavirus ha afectado a nuestros estudiantes, sus familias y a la comunidad del East Side.

Inspirados en proyectos similares en la ciudad que han comenzado a recaudar fondos para familias escolares, un equipo de maestros de GW, personal y miembros de la comunidad se han unido para aligerar la carga de esta crisis para algunas de nuestras familias de Washington que tienen la mayor necesidad. Como la mayoría de los otros proyectos de fondos de solidaridad escolar, esta no es una iniciativa escolar oficial de GWHS o CPS: es un grupo de nosotros, muchos de los cuales somos maestros, que se reúnen para ver qué podemos hacer para apoyar a la comunidad de GWHS.
